In this class students will learn about common unmartial artifacts of practice cutting. There are many behaviours that practitioners exhibit during cutting that would lead to getting hit when sparring. The goal of this class is to close the gap between cutting and fighting, and learn why it is important to do so.
Equipment: blunt sword or feder (loaners available)
Julian is a 10 time cutting finalist and 5 time champion from Vancouver, Canada. Julian has been a HEMA instructor since 2012, and is currently studying in the field of kinesiology & coaching. Julian is passionate about seeing the application of body mechanics in HEMA & all martial arts. He is currently certified under the Canadian National Coaching Certification Program, and looks to incorporate coaching methodologies into his instruction and classes. Julian’s favourite aspects of coaching is to help improve those around him and aims to provide feedback whenever possible.
